The City of Chandler Police Department, Planning and Research Section, is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as the Management Analyst Senior.  This position administers assigned administrative systems and programs, with a primary focus on grant management and compliance, while performing advance data evaluation and strategic assessment. Serves as the primary contact for grant application submittals and reporting to federal, state, and local agencies regarding grants and will maintain a central repository/tracking function for grants. Monitors grant budget activity, expenditures, encumbrances, and overtime trends to ensure accuracy and correcting as necessary to include journal entries, budget transfer requests and prior payroll adjustments. The incumbent will also analyze complex data to support decision making, informing stakeholders through clear reporting and communication. Supporting special projects and initiatives through ongoing analysis and coordination as assigned. This is a regular full-time, exempt position with benefits.  The anticipated work schedule for this position may be 5x8, 9x80 or 4x10, depending on employee’s preference.

  • Administers assigned administrative systems and grant programs, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, timelines, and allowable costs.
  • Evaluates financial and operational data to support budgeting, grant management, and decision making.
  • Develops complex data, financial, capital improvement projects, and budget analysis reporting and provides recommendations.
  • Coordinates intergovernmental agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.
  • Prepares presentations and publications.
  • Administers forfeiture funds including reporting compliance.
  • Conducts and responds to surveys.

Minimum qualifications

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting finance public administration business administration or related field; and
  • Must possess at least 4-years of work experience in municipal accounting, finance, budgeting and/or project/ program management, or research and analysis in various areas such as budget, grants, capital improvement programs, staffing and deployment analysis; and
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities can be substituted for the requirements listed above.


Supervision

Work is performed under the supervision of a civilian supervisor or manager.  This position does not supervise others.

This is a regular, full-time, exempt position with full benefits.  A register of qualified candidates will be active for 6 months should another position become available.
