The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Forensic Scientist. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. This position will have the option of working a 5x8 schedule Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or a 9x80 schedule, from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 335 sworn officers and 172 civilians, serves a growing population of close to 270,000 residents. The organization is divided into two divisions and one bureau. The Patrol Division consisting of three precincts to meet the needs of the community, the Operational Support Bureau, and the Professional Services Division. Who we are looking for
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science or closely related physical or natural sciences with a minimum of twenty (20) semester hours in chemistry; along with some volunteer and/or internship experience with a forensic laboratory. Four (4) or more years of experience in forensic laboratory analysis with a working expertise in at least one (1) forensic science discipline is desirable.

Forensic Scientist I Minimum Qualifications ($55,390 - $75,358 annually)
* Bachelor's Degree with major courses of study in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or a closely related physical or natural science with a minimum of twenty (20) semester hours of chemistry; and
* Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training which meets the minimum qualifications.

Forensic Scientist II Minimum Qualifications ($63,419 - $87,869 annually)
* Bachelor's Degree with major courses of study in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or closely related physical or natural sciences with a minimum of 20 semester hours of chemistry; and
* Four (4) years forensic laboratory analysis experience with a working expertise in at least one (1) forensic science discipline;
* Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training which meets the minimum qualifications.

Forensic Scientist III Minimum Qualifications ($73,306 - $102,628 annually)
* Bachelor's Degree with major courses of study in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic science, or closely related physical or natural sciences with a minimum of 20 semester hours of chemistry; and
* Must have seven (7) years of experience as a forensics examiner in a recognized forensic laboratory with working expertise in two (2) forensic disciplines;
* Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
* Arizona POST General Instructor Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion date;
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training which meets the minimum qualifications.
