Description:
The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Civilian Range Instructor. The position requires you provide firearms instruction, safety and related training to police officers and detention officers. Maintains and repairs department weapons, armory and other equipment. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a 4/10 schedule working Monday through Thursday from 0700 – 1700.

Who we are
The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 348 sworn officers and 192 civilians, serves a growing population of approximately 290,000 residents. The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. Who we are looking for
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with at least three (3) years’ experience providing basic and advanced firearms training in a law enforcement environment within the past five (5) years who possesses an AZPOST Approved Firearms Instructor Certification and AZPOST Approved Rifle Instructor Certification. Previous law enforcement training experience and previous Glock and AR-15 armorer experience is desired.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by specialized training in firearms use and safety.
- At least three (3) years’ experience providing basic and advanced firearms training in a law enforcement environment within the past five (5) years; and
- AZ POST Approved Firearms Instructor Certification; and
- AZ POST Approved Rifle Instructor Certification; and
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous law enforcement SWAT experience.
- Previous Glock and AR-15 armorer experience.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a 4/10 schedule. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 6 months should another position become available.
